Join the creative team behind Tacoma Light Trail (TLT), a celebration of light art weaving through Tacoma’s vibrant downtown core and surrounding neighborhoods. We’re seeking a Guest Art Coordinator to curate and coordinate 5-7 captivating light art installations along The Trail. BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ are strongly encouraged to apply, as we strive to reflect the diversity of our community.
New Year’s Eve Kick Off Celebration Countdown to the New Year with Tacoma’s Sister City, Cienfuegos, Cuba on December 31, 2023 at Tollefson Plaza, downtown Tacoma!
Schedule: 5:30 – Parade led by Fire Dragon and Tacomarama Brass Band 6pm -10pm Performances include: DJ Summersoft, Tacoma Urban Performing Arts Center presenting Hilltop Holiday Revue, Asian Pacific Cultural Center presenting cultural and fire dance performances, Tacoma Dance Studios presenting illuminated Belly Dancers, a show from String and Shadow Puppet Theater, projection art from Ulysses Martin & Anthony Bassett, and yummy meals from Bajan Caribbean Station and Starvin Marvin Food Trucks.

❤️🔥 Have you visited the Museum of Glass yet? Dani Kaes, Galen Turner, and Jacob Willcox founded the neon glass artist collective Gas Filling Tube Suckers (GFTS) @gasfillingtubesuckers in early 2022. They visited Museum of Glass for a Visiting Artist residency in the Hot Shop in May 2023. Their installation If one doesn’t work, we got two to spare: a GFTS mixtape (2023) is on view in the Museum’s front window through January 2024.
