Gloria Joy Kazuko Muhammad (preferred name: Joy) is a literary arts teaching artist, writer,filmmaker, editor, and community organizer based in Puyallup Territory (Tacoma, WA). As a writer, Joy is inspired by spirituality, everyday life, nature, music, and cinematography. She is a graduate of Washington State Teaching Artist Training Lab and facilitates writing workshops rooted in healing and personal development. Additionally, she facilitates professional development workshops with teachers on utilizing social-emotional learning, is a consultant for curriculum development for youth and adults arts programming, and is always down to be a1speaker on collective care! A lifelong student, Joy enjoys learning from and with others on environmental justice, design justice, and co-creating a world in which we’re all free.
