Light Up Bike Ride
Celebrate the light and the new year with a free, family-friendly bike ride. Gather at 6:00 p.m. to decorate your bike with lights and reflectors. Participants will follow a 3.5 mile route, going through Downtown and Hilltop with two stops to admire the Light Trail installations.
New Years Eve Kick Off Celebration
Join us for a Dragon Parade from the UWT Prairie Line to Tollefson Plaza at 5:30pm, where the New Year’s Eve kickoff celebration begins. Performances begin at 6pm with a traditional New Year blessing from the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and continue with performances from many of Tacoma’s diverse presenting organizations, including fire and cultural dances!

Experience the magic of the Tacoma Light Trail from December 31 to January 12! This free, walkable/driveable trail features dazzling light art on display every night from 5 PM to 9 PM throughout downtown Tacoma. Additionally, a Sound Trail pairs music and poetry with each light location via QR code.
