Celebrate the light and the new year with a free, family-friendly bike ride on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, meeting at Theater Square Plaza - 930 Broadway, Tacoma. Gather at 6:00 p.m. to decorate your bike with lights and reflectors. Free materials will be available while supplies last, with zip ties and tape provided. The ride will begin around 6:30 p.m. Participants will follow a 3.5 mile route, going through Downtown and Hilltop with two stops to admire the Light Trail installations. The ride is open to all ages and abilities, but youth must be accompanied by an adult. Helmets are required. Some hills are included on the route but will be taken at a slow pace.

This special event is held in partnership with Downtown on the Go and Tacoma Light Trail, an initiative that uses light art to uplift and unify our community during the darker months. The ride will highlight light art installations along the trail, with insights provided by Tacoma Light Trail staff. Bring your friends and light up your bikes!
